We love sending our handmade creations across the globe. Because international shipping involves crossing borders, please review our terms regarding delivery times, customs duties, and local taxes below.
We use Royal Mail International Tracked for most international orders to ensure your items are monitored every step of the way. [1, 2]
1. Delivery Timeframes & Service Aims
Our delivery timeframes are based on Royal Mail’s official international transit aims: [1]
- Key Europe Destinations: 3 to 4 working days (includes Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, and Luxembourg).
- Rest of Europe: 3 to 5 working days.
- United States: 5 to 7 working days.
- Rest of the World: 5 to 7 working days. [1, 2]
Please note: These timelines are Royal Mail’s operational delivery aims. Actual delivery times may occasionally be extended due to local customs processing backlogs or local postal network volumes in the destination country. [1]
2. Shipments to the United States (Duties Included)
For our customers in the United States, we aim to provide a seamless checkout experience.
- Customs Duties: Any applicable US customs duties are built entirely into our product pricing or website postage charges.
- Delivery Experience: Your package will be sent via a Postal Delivered Duties Paid (PDDP) service code. You will not face any unexpected customs bills, administrative fees, or processing charges upon arrival. [1, 2, 3]
3. Shipments to the European Union (EU) & Rest of the World (DDU)
For orders shipped to the wider European Union, and all other international destinations, we operate on a strict Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) / Delivered At Place (DAP) basis. [1]
The price paid at our WooCommerce checkout covers only the cost of the physical items and the physical Royal Mail postage label. It does not include local import taxes, customs duties, or handling fees.
Upon arrival in your destination country, your package will be held by local customs authorities and will be subject to:
- Local Import VAT: Calculated based on your country’s standard tax rates (e.g., 19% in Germany) on the total value of the items and shipping costs.
- EU Low-Value Customs Fees: Under current EU regulations, low-value e-commerce imports are subject to a flat customs duty (typically €3) and a Union Handling Fee (typically €2) applied per distinct product category (HS/commodity code) inside the parcel. [1]
- Carrier Clearance Fees: Your local postal service or courier (such as Deutsche Post or DHL in Germany) will charge a handling/administrative fee (usually between €5 and €15) to clear the package through customs and collect these fees from you. [1]
Important Note for Customers: All import VAT, customs fees, and courier handling fees must be paid by the recipient before the courier will release and deliver the parcel. If these fees are refused by the buyer, the package will be returned to us, and the original shipping costs will be non-refundable. [1]
4. Legal Compliance & Mandatory Customs Data
To ensure your package clears international customs smoothly without being delayed, rejected, or destroyed, we strictly comply with global trading regulations: [1, 2]
- Accurate Declarations: We are legally required to declare the exact commercial value and exact contents of every parcel. We cannot mark commercial e-commerce retail items as a “Gift” or lower the declared value.
- Electronic Tariffs (HS Codes): Every item in your order is assigned its correct global Harmonised System (HS) tariff code and Product Identifier (SKU) to ensure accurate computer processing by your local customs office. [1, 2]
- EORI Compliance: As a registered UK business, all of our international shipments are processed using our UK Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number, guaranteeing full compliance with post-Brexit customs data mandates
